2. Research Facility at USA University :
Many
countries do not afford Research Facility in the country, as a result students
of their countries are moving out of their cities for MS or research degree in
other Country.
Many of the
world's most famous discoveries have been made through university research. From the invention of the telegraph, the
discovery of AIDS, the origination of the internet, and current advances in
stem cell research, our nation's universities are the hub of knowledge and Embedded
Technology, (IOT) Internet of Things, discovery, 56% of our nation's basic
research is being conducted at universities. Students are an integral part of
university research; studies show that students who engage in research are
twice as likely to graduate, five-times more likely to go on to graduate
school, and have more successful careers after graduation. These students go on
to become the next generation of scientists, engineers, teachers, and leaders
in government and industry. International
students, especially Indian students, joining MS at USA University, have been
ambitious and hard working to pursue their goal of career education.
3. Positive move of career development:
The US, the UK and Australia — the three most
popular destinations for Indians seeking global education — have seen the
number of Indian students come down over the past few years (see Out of
Favour?). Remember, many Indian students take hefty education loans to finance
their studies abroad. While many would find decent jobs back in India that
would not help much as these students need dollar salaries to comfortably
service their loan. This is taking its toll. “Overseas education is
costly. Some of Indian students finds career development and higher
education at USA is more cheaper than any other countries and finds positive
move of career development. Post education life for hunting job or higher

4. Habits of facing challenges:
It is
experienced from the talk of Indian students that unless we go out of country
and accept challenges for career development, we will not strengthen our will
power to overcome & face these challenges.
In order for career development to occur, you need to know your
employees’ goals and willingness to develop. The challenge is there is no way
to know this without having a conversation, which can be tough for some
individuals. To promote career development in your workplace, urge your
managers to initiate this conversation with their team members. Taking the pressure
off the individual by initiating this conversation could help them open up.
These conversations are important, especially for increasing employee
retention. Coaching is another option to
help your workplace. Coaches can give the promoted individual skills training
in areas like leadership or communication. This boosts the individual’s
abilities as well as their confidence. The
challenge is there is no way to every fields and every jobs and to know this
without having a conversation, which can be tough for some individuals. The challenges are inevitable in life and it
is 10% how you take it and 90% how you make it. There are several instances, wherein an Indian students, failed to cope
up the studies pressure or failed to search out suitable job after
graduation. There are also several
instances, wherein an Indian students, continuously failed in VISA interview
itself and surrendered.
5. Salary structure :
There are
a variety of factors that determine a person's salary, which is why the average
American salary isn't necessarily a good benchmark. But according to the United
States Census Bureau in 2019, the average salary was $86,019. Let’s take a more in-depth look at a number of
the nuances impacting the median income in the USA at present:
Academic Education
According
to the latest statistics compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, those with
a doctoral degree in 2016 had an average weekly income of $2,064.
Interestingly, those with a professional degree (which usually calls for
someone to work a certain amount of time in their relevant field before
receiving accreditation) slightly out-earned their doctoral peers, with average
weekly earnings of $2,745. A significant dip follows, as we look at those who
have obtained a master degree and earn a weekly average of $3,389. Next,
bachelor degree-holders earn on average $1,156 per week, and associate degree
holders earn $1819. Employees who spent some time in college but received no
degree earn a weekly average of $2756, while high school diploma holders earn $3692
per week. Finally, for those who did not receive their GED, median earnings
clock in at $2504 per week.
Important
side note: If it is IT industry, it is ranging average of $44056 to $112756 and HealthCare industry, it is ranging
average of $66205 to $152999.
Type of Industry
Data USA
discovered that the highest paid industry in the U.S. nowadays is Securities,
Commodities, Funds, Trusts, and other Financial Investments, with average
annual salaries of $121,876. Next is Software Publishing with yearly earnings
of $113,947, followed by: Internet Publishing, Broadcasting, and Web Search
Portals at $104,823; Oil and Gas Extraction at $102,710; and a rather
convoluted category called “Other Information Services, Except Libraries and
Archives, and Internet Publishing, and Broadcasting and Web Search Portals,”
with yearly earnings of $99,391.
Conversely,
the industries with the lowest annual salaries include: Nail Salons and Other
Personal Care Services ($20,419); Child Day Care Services ($19,793);
Restaurants and Food Services ($18,930); and, of all things, Bowling Centers
($18,865). Again, these findings are susceptible to substantial variation,
especially where geographical location comes into play. Bartenders in The Big
Apple, for example, can make upwards of 100K a year — a pretty exceptional
financial picture compared to those working in Food Services in, say, Des
Moines, Iowa.
Significantly,
the most common industries (or those with the largest full-time work forces)
have nearly no overlap with the industries found to be the highest paying.
Ranking as the No. 1 most common industry sector, according to Data USA’s
facts, is Restaurant and Food Services, with a workforce of 8.8 million.
Elementary and secondary schools come next, employing 8.57 million people.
Construction is the third most common industry at 7.7 million, followed by
hospitals at 6.87 million and higher education at 4.1 million. Annual Salary
Geographical Location / State / city
As
touched on above, where you life can have a pretty substantial effect on your
household profits, as salaries are often adjusted according to cost of living.
For most non-executive roles, companies factor in for your location when
benchmarking pay rates and salary ranges, and that extends to companies that
hire employees in multiple locations, too. In fact, more often than not, your
geographical location is the salary benchmark (outside of experience level, of
course).
The way
these calculations are normally made is through a cost-of-living adjustment
(i.e. the cost of goods and services) or, slightly more commonly, by looking at
a location’s cost of labor (i.e. compensation). Some companies will make these
salary range adjustments on an individual basis, while others have in place
separate base annual salary structures for specific places.
To get a
better sense for how location impacts profits, let’s take a look at the
geographical pay variations for one position, software engineer, as recorded by
Pay Scale.
6. Cost of living
Most of
the US has a cost of living way lower than the major cities in Europe. Orlando
FL has a current cost of living about 3% lower than the US average. Ocala is
more than 13% lower. So, America is not vastly more expensive to live in than
other highly developed nations.
Normally, Indian students choose the location of University, based on
this criteria. Top 10 cities of USA with price index is :

in the USA is bound to be a cross-cultural experience that you may learn from.

study in. You can search comfort zone
from places matching to your existing location.

immerse yourself in the completely new place and learn from the differences. A culture
gap will be present at first, but this can be bridged easily. Campus life of US University is very fair and frank, and it does not disturb much or match within one or two months.

education you are planning on completing in the USA, the initial overwhelming
feeling may be the same. There are more

of Indian cities. The geography and climate vary widely in America. The kind of
clothing and weather varies according to the location you are in. Take a look
at the climate in the city your school is situated in, accordingly.

Studying at US :Totally New World:
If we can put Studying in
the University in one word, we would feel Challenging and tough within a six
months. Studies at US Universities are totally different over here. You have
all the freedom to choose whichever subjects you want to study and how much
ever subject you wish to take in a semester. It is but natural to be in touch
with the seniors as to which subjects are good to go for in the first semester.
It happens many times that
the same subject is taken by two different professors. So, it is again consult
with the seniors which professor to go for and how difficult the curriculum is.
Always remember, professor would teach you the basics and the assignment levels
would be way high than what professor has taught. We have to be careful about queries or doubts
and immediately approach the professors or the Teaching Assistant to get it
clarified and totally resolved. If could
not do clarity on the subject, then it is quite natural that it may lead to
blunder at the time of studies for Final exam of the semester.
It is advisable to not to
copy assignments of your classmate, as you would be in a big mess if you do
it. If you are caught for copying
assignment, then you have to face a rule of code of conduct and strict actions
are taken, as may be provided in Rule book by the University.
The Assignments and
Projects are always experience to be tough but it will elevate your skills and
you would become more proficient in those subjects. We have to Put in all
efforts towards these Assignments and Projects and get a good grade. A good
grading excels your career life at US for job opportunities as well. So you
have to work hard for study in the project and Assignments, using Library books
and study available in the market.
The biggest reason you should consider a study abroad program is the
opportunity to see the world in US. By studying abroad, you will experience a
brand-new country and their culture with incredible new outlooks, customs and
activities. The benefits of studying abroad include the opportunity to see new
terrains, natural wonders, museums and landmarks of your host nation and most
of all achievements in career life. Another reason you might consider studying abroad or at America is for
the chance to experience different styles of education. By enrolling in a study
abroad program, you’ll have the chance to see a side of your major that you may
not have been exposed to at home and your career life will undergo a miraculous
change. You will find that completely
immersing yourself in the education system of your host country is a great way
to really experience and understand the people, its traditions, and its
culture.
When you finish your study abroad MS program and return home, you will
return with a new perspective on culture, language skills, a great education, new
technology and a willingness to learn and experiment.
Life after Graduation in US.
1. You should have your own
dream plan for your career life. In US nobody cares about who you are. If you are Rockstar or a simple human NO ONE
CARES.
2. Be ready to sleep less and
work more. Because professors won't let you sleep and especially before the
submission.
3. One needs to learn work
alone and that trust me, most of the Indian students didn't do.
4. Life in US is struggling
for sure but entertaining as well. It
opens up your thinking how real world works.
5. Experience matters in US.
No matter in which field you are. If you desire of good placement, then you
should have earlier job experience in the field.
6. Most of time you study in
library that we didn't do in INDIA and that is the best thing that I love.
7. If you need a little thing
you have to work hard here. Nothing comes easy or free in US.
8. Everyone knows more than
you and Indians Don't help Indians here. Trust me this is bitter truth but it
is true.
9. Everyday you will wake up
thinking to do much more things like I have to complete this and then but at
last you won't even complete single thing because either you get tired or
stressed or spent your day thinking.
10. If you are not habitual of
having all foods / intake, then you will have to practise.
11. The person who didn't share
anything to anyone like food , bed etc will start sharing everything.
12. The person who didn't do
homework on his own started doing it.
13. Never believe in sharing
your own money or American dollars or borrow.
14. Never depend on your
seniors. They will help you at starting but once the semester starts they won't
help. I am not saying every seniors are same but many seniors won't help after
some time.
15. When you start your
master's the first few months you think what am I doing and why am I doing.
Here everyone is way smarter than me but when that hard time passes you say to
you heart now my life path is again moving upwards.
16. One thing I wanted to add
is that if you are struggling and failing that means you are learning and at
that time please do not stop.Keep trying you will get it for sure.
17. People only call when they
need help. There is always been some selfishness after calling you so you have
to decide which call to pick up and which one do not.
You will have to check to see if your graduation
course comes under the Stem Category and if it does you will be eligible for
OPT for 18 months from the official date of your graduation. A few months
before graduating you can apply for your OPT. This is required because it will
take a few months to process your application and get your OPT ready. OPT – Optional Practical Training: Optional
Practical Training (OPT) is an immigration option for recently graduated F-1
Visa students. Basically, it is temporary employment authorization. Keep in
mind that your employment must be related to your F-1 topic of study. Graduates
may apply to receive up to one year of OPT employment authorization.
Once you get your OPT you will be eligible to
look for full time job in the US. This is where the bottleneck starts one after
another. Here, your tension, stress, depression level is tested. You should find an employer who will sponsor
an H1 category visa for you. F1 is for
study and H1B visa is the eligibility for work and you should find an employer
who can sponsor this for you. Well this is a very unlikely case as there are
very few instances where the employer directly sponsors an H1B visa. So the
better option would be to go through a local recruiter or Agent. They get you interview ready and open up some
job opportunities. You will then give a bunch of interviews in your related
technology fields.
If you get a job with some company, the
recruiter will charge a fee and also take a 30% (sometimes 25%) cut from your
salary. In return the recruiter will sponsor an H1B for your so he will be your
EMPLOYER and the company you are working for will become your CLIENT. This is
the easier way, but you would be getting only 70% to 75% of your salary as long
as the recruiter sponsors your visa.
